Obair — Advanced Workflow Engine

Orchestrate your work, end to end

Obair combines visual process design, human task management, and intelligent automation into one platform — enabling teams to handle complex, multi-step work with confidence and full auditability.

Why Obair

One platform for every step of your process

From the first task to the final sign-off — human, automated, or AI-driven — Obair keeps everything moving and nothing falling through the cracks.

Visual Workflow Design

Design multi-step processes as visual diagrams. Drag, drop, and connect tasks into directed graphs — no code required. See your entire workflow at a glance and adapt it as your process evolves.

Human Task Management

Assign tasks to team roles, track progress in real time, and keep everyone aligned. Status flows automatically — from Not Started through In Progress to Complete — so nothing gets lost.

Intelligent Automation

Trigger webhooks, run scripts, or call external APIs automatically when tasks become ready. Automation runs with retry logic, execution audit trails, and optional Kubernetes-scale isolation.

AI-Powered Decisions

Decision points in your workflow can be delegated to AI. Obair integrates with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling AI agents to evaluate context and determine the next step in the process.

Digital Asset Integration

Workflows connect directly to Comad, the Ullav Digital Asset Manager. Trigger asset ingestion, approval workflows, and publishing pipelines as part of your process — no custom glue code needed.

Collaboration & Audit Trail

Annotate tasks with threaded notes, share context with team members, and maintain a complete record of every decision, handoff, and automation run throughout the workflow lifecycle.

Hybrid Workflows

Human decisions and automated actions — together

Most real-world processes are neither fully manual nor fully automated. Obair models them exactly as they are: a mix of human judgment and machine execution, with the right task type for every step.

Standard Tasks

Manual steps assigned to team roles. A person takes ownership, does the work, and advances the task when ready — simple, transparent, and tracked.

Automated Tasks

Tasks that trigger automatically — invoking a webhook, running a script, or calling an external API — as soon as their predecessor completes. Results are logged and feed into the next step.

Decision Tasks

Branching points that evaluate context — by a human, or by an AI agent via MCP — and route the workflow accordingly. Complex conditional logic without complex code.

Rework Loops

Processes rarely go in a straight line. Obair supports rework edges — backward connections in the graph — so tasks can return to an earlier stage when a review fails or a correction is needed.

Comad Integration

Connect your workflows to your digital assets

Obair and Comad are designed to work together. Workflow tasks can directly trigger operations in the Comad Digital Asset Manager — creating end-to-end pipelines from ingest to publication without manual handoffs.

Asset Ingest Pipelines

Automatically trigger asset upload and metadata enrichment steps in Comad when a workflow task completes. Keep your asset library in sync with your operational processes.

Approval Workflows

Route digital assets through structured review and sign-off processes before they are published or distributed. Each approval step is tracked, auditable, and tied to a named team role.

Publishing Pipelines

Automate the final steps of your asset lifecycle — format conversion, watermarking, or distribution — as workflow tasks that run only after all upstream approvals are complete.

Cross-Platform Consistency

Both Obair and Comad share the same Ullav authentication infrastructure and deployment model. One team, one platform, one SSO login — across all your tools.

How It Works

From design to delivery

Obair takes you from a blank canvas to a running, automated process in four steps.

  • Design your process

Use the visual workflow editor to map out your process as a directed graph. Define task types, add decision points, connect automated steps, and set up rework loops — all without writing code.

  • Assign team roles

Map tasks to team roles so the right people receive the right work. Obair tracks status across the team and keeps the process moving without manual chasing.

  • Automate what you can

Configure automated tasks to call webhooks, run scripts, or invoke MCP tools. Automation executes when tasks become ready — with built-in retry logic and a full execution history.

  • Monitor and adapt

Track job and workflow status in real time. Review the execution audit trail, adjust your process as you learn, and scale from a single team to enterprise-wide operations.

Questions?

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of workflows is Obair suited for?

Obair is designed for complex, multi-step processes that involve a mix of human tasks and automation — content production pipelines, asset management approvals, project delivery workflows, research processes, and operations management. If your work involves sequences of tasks with dependencies, Obair can model and manage it.

Is Obair a no-code tool?

The workflow design and task management experience is entirely visual — no code required. For automation steps, you can configure webhooks, shell scripts, or Python scripts inline. Advanced integrations using the MCP protocol can connect to external systems and AI agents, but these are optional and require only configuration, not custom application development.

How does Obair handle automation reliably?

Automated tasks use a transactional outbox pattern backed by NATS JetStream to guarantee delivery. Tasks are never silently lost — the system retries on failure, tracks every execution, and maintains a complete history of outcomes. For high-scale or isolated execution, scripts can run as Kubernetes Jobs with configurable resource limits.

Can Obair integrate with our existing systems?

Yes. Automated tasks can call any system that exposes a webhook or HTTP API. Scripts can interact with any system accessible from your network. For AI-native integrations, Obair supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — both exposing its own workflow tools and calling tools on external MCP servers.

How does the Comad integration work?

Obair workflow tasks can trigger operations in the Comad Digital Asset Manager via webhook or MCP. This enables end-to-end pipelines — from document intake through review, approval, and publication — without custom integration code. Both products share the same authentication infrastructure.

How is Obair priced and deployed?

Obair is a B2B solution offered on a project and agreement basis. Pricing depends on the scope of deployment, integration requirements, and support level. We do not offer a self-serve subscription — get in touch to discuss your project and we will put together a proposal tailored to your organisation.
